Azerbaijan, officially the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Respublikası) is the largest country in the Caucasus region located at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe. It is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west and Iran to the south. anuary 4-10, 2000 - Delegation of Milli Mejlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, headed by Deputy Speaker Mr. A.Ragimzade visited China. During the visit the delegation hold negotiations with Mr. Li Peng, The Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Ji Peiding, Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of Central Committee of the CPC Mr. Cai Wu.

May 25-27, 2000 - Delegation of Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, headed by Minister S.Abiyev visited China. During the visit the delegation hold negotiations with Chinese Defence Minister Mr. Chi Haotian and other officials.

June 4-14, 2000 - The director of Control of Standardizing of Auditor Chamber of Azerbaijan Mr. G.Bayramov was participating in International Conference, organized by Head Auditor Office of China.

June 21-24, 2000 - Delegation of Parliament of China, headed by Mr. Li Peng, The Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress visited Azerbaijan. During the visit the delegation hold negotiations with Mr. H.Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, Mr. A.Rasizade, Prime Minister, Mr. M.Aleskerov, Speaker of Parliament.

July 8, 2000 - Delegation of Ministry of Culture of China, headed by Mr. Li Yuancao, Deputy Minister of Culture visited Azerbaijan. During the visit the delegation hold negotiations with officials of Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, Musical Academy and others.

October 24-28, 2000 - Delegation of Ministry of Foreign Affaires of Azerbaijan, headed by Minister Mr. V.Guliyev visited China. During the visit the delegation hold negotiations with Deputy Chairman of the People's Republic of China Mr. Hu Jintao, Foreign Minister Mr. Tang Jiaxuan, Deputy Minister of Culture Mrs. Meng Xiaosi, Governor of Shanxi province and other officials. During the visit, sides have put the signatures under the protocol of bipartite economical relations between the countries.

16-19 November, 2000 - Delegation of Ministry of Trade and Economical Cooperation of China, headed by Deputy Minister Mr. Hei Xiaowei visited Azerbaijan.

May 23-26, 2001 - Delegation of "Chinese Friendship Society" visited Azerbaijan.

June 18-21, 2001 - Delegation of Pepople's Prosecutor Office of China, headed by Chen Zhendeng visited Azerbaijan. During the visit the delegation hold negotiations with officials.

July 5-8, 2001 - Delegation of Ministry of Defence of China, headed by General Zhu Yanhan visited Azerbaijan. During the visit the delegation hold negotiations with Defence Minister Mr. S.Abiyev and other officials.

July 17-21, 2001 - Delegation of Supreme Court of China, headed by Deputy Head Mr. Zhu Mingshan visited Azerbaijan.

July 18-21, 2001 - Delegation of the Department of Foreign Relations of Central Committee of CPC of China, headed by Mr. Cai Wu visited Azerbaijan. During the visit the delegation hold negotiations with Head of the Department of Foreign Realtions of the President's Office Mr. N.Mamedov, Foreign Minister Mr. V.Guliyev, Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. H.Halafov, Executive Secretary of "New Azerbaijan" party, A.Ahmedov and other officials.

March 25-30, 2002 - Delegation of Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, headed by Deputy Head Mr. H.Mirzoyev visited China.
