Bosnia And Herzegovina-China Relations

The year 2010 marked the 15th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the People's Republic of China and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries continued to deepen.

The two sides maintained the sound momentum of high-level exchanges. In April, congratulatory messages were exchanged between Premier Wen Jiabao and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Nikola Spiric and between Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj for the 15th anniversary of diplomatic relations. In June, Vice Chairperson of the NPC and President of the All-China Women's Federation Chen Zhili visited Bosnia and Herzegovina and met with Presidency Chairman Haris Silajidzic, Presidency Member Zeljko Komsic, Presidency Member Nebojsa Radmanovic and Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly Niko Lozancic.

In May, Chairman of the Council of Ministers Nikola Spiric paid a working visit to China and attended the National Pavilion Day activities of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Shanghai World Expo. During the visit, he had talks with Premier Wen Jiabao and CPPCC Chairman Jia Qingling and met with Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang. The leaders of the two countries spoke positively of the bilateral relations and agreed to take the 15th anniversary as a new starting point to further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in various fields.

In March, Bosnia and Herzegovina's new ambassador to China Amel Kovacevic presented his letter of credence to President Hu Jintao. In September, China's new ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Wang Fuguo presented his letter of credence to Presidency Chairman Haris Silajidzic.
